Scrutiny surrounding Laisha Michelle Oseguera González—the youngest daughter of Nemesio Oseguera Cervantes, better known as “El Mencho”—intensified following her appearance at the funeral of the former leader of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG) in Guadalajara.
Born in 2001, Laisha Michelle is the daughter of the CJNG founder and Rosalinda González Valencia, who has been identified as a financial operator for the criminal organization.
Her name burst into the public sphere following the leak of images from “El Mencho’s” lavish funeral—held on March 1 in the San Andrés neighborhood of Guadalajara—where she was spotted among the attendees. It is rumored that she was the one who formally claimed her father’s remains from the authorities.
The young woman had remained off the media radar until 2021, when her name surfaced in U.S. court documents; at that time, together with her mother and a cousin, she sent a letter to a U.S. court requesting leniency for her sister, Jessica Oseguera González, who was being detained on money laundering charges.
