The lead singer of Banda Los Recoditos, Rafael González, broke his silence after his wife, Fernanda Redondo, publicly accused him of domestic violence and a knife attack at their home in Mazatlán, Sinaloa.
The situation erupted Wednesday night after Redondo shared a video on her TikTok account. In the video, González’s wife showed injuries that, according to her testimony, were inflicted during an incident of domestic violence.
The accuser stated that during her 12-year relationship with the singer, she suffered various episodes of physical and psychological abuse.
The most recent incident included beatings and a knife wound to her leg, allegedly inflicted by the singer in front of their children after she refused to host a gathering at the house. Redondo recounted: “He started hitting me, he stabbed me in the leg with a knife simply because
I didn’t want him to have a barbecue at the house. Things were already bad, and since he’s an alcoholic, I didn’t want anything to get out of control. So, he attacked me in front of my children,” she said, showing her injured face.
Fernanda Redondo explained that, after the incident, her husband left the house before the police arrived. She stated that when she tried to file a formal complaint, the authorities told her she had to appear at the Sinaloa Attorney General’s Office the following day.
Rafael González posted a message on his Instagram account denying the accusations and calling the situation a case of defamation.
