Ana Karen disappeared on February 28th after leaving a party and requesting a ride through the Didi Moto app in San Antonio la Isla. Since then, nothing had been heard from her.

This Tuesday, after being missing for three days, she was found dead in the municipality of Metepec. According to initial reports, the young woman’s body was found beside the Toluca-Tenango highway, under some trees. Municipal public safety officers responded to the scene after receiving a call alerting them to the presence of an apparently unconscious person.

Upon arrival, the officers requested paramedic assistance. However, emergency personnel confirmed that she no longer had vital signs. The area was cordoned off while personnel from the femicide unit of the Attorney General’s Office of the State of Mexico (FGJEM) carried out the corresponding procedures and ordered the removal of the body, which showed signs of violence.

The young woman had last been seen on the night of February 28, when she left a party and requested a motorcycle ride through a ride-hailing app. Surveillance cameras captured the moment the driver picked her up at the Villas del Sauces housing development in San Antonio la Isla, around 11:00 p.m. After she got on the motorcycle, they both left the area. Minutes later, the driver ended the ride on the app, and from that moment on, her family lost all contact with her, as calls to her cell phone stopped going through.
