One week after the violence following the federal operation in which Nemesio Oseguera Cervantes, alias “El Mencho,” leader of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG), was killed, Puerto Vallarta’s beaches are experiencing normal activity this Sunday.

From the early hours of the morning, dozens of people strolled along the shore, while fishermen carried out their daily routine. Tourism service providers set up umbrellas and lounge chairs, and joggers resumed their usual activities. The flow of visitors remained steady throughout the morning, in contrast to the days following the drug cartel roadblocks and the burning of convenience stores in various parts of the municipality.

Authorities maintain a security presence in the area, while tourist and commercial activity is operating normally.
