Besides celebrating a lot of music, the 2026 Grammy Awards could become a historic event for some of the stars attending the 68th edition, which takes place this Sunday in Los Angeles.

From Justin Bieber’s return to the ceremony to Bad Bunny’s current success, who is one of the favorites of the night, here’s a guide with the key points for the gala organized by the Recording Academy.

Grammys 2026: A Historic Album of the Year
One of the most important categories of the night, the Grammy for Album of the Year has the potential to be historic in several ways.

For one thing, none of the eight nominees have ever won this award, even though the list includes established artists like Justin Bieber, Lady Gaga, and Kendrick Lamar.

But in the meantime, favorites like Lamar or Bad Bunny could make history on their own.

If GNX wins, Kendrick Lamar would become the first rapper to win the category solo.

If Bad Bunny’s “DeBÍ Tirar Más Fotos” takes the prize, it will be the first album entirely in Spanish to win.

Multilingual Songs of the Year

Three of the eight nominees for Song of the Year challenge the dominance of English in the main Grammy categories.

The infectious “Golden,” from the Netflix phenomenon The Warriors K-pop, and “APT,” by Rosé & Bruno Mars, have taken the world by storm with their Korean and English lyrics, and a Grammy would catapult either of them as the first bilingual song to win the award.
Bad Bunny could also become the first artist to win a Grammy with a song in Spanish thanks to his Caribbean-infused “DTMF.”
