The MILENIO newspaper team obtained exclusive videos of what happened after the armed attack at a soccer field in the community of Loma de Flores, in Salamanca, Guanajuato, where 11 people died on Sunday, January 25.
Although the footage captures the desperation of the moment, it highlights the cries of the victims’ families, as well as the bodies of the victims lying on the field.
In the videos shared by journalist Alejandro Domínguez on #AlexEnMILENIO, the bodies of the victims can be seen lying on the soccer field, surrounded by their families and witnesses of the attack.
The nearly nine-minute recording shows the victims’ families desperately trying to help the wounded, while others tried to find a way to transport the injured to local hospitals.
“You sons of bitches (sic) (…) don’t touch him, he’s my boy (…) he’s already dead, man (sic) (…) where are you, you sons of bitches? (…) my little sister is already dead (…) we weren’t prepared, bastards (…) my wife is dead there (…) those sons of bitches killed my brother (…) Why didn’t you run, son?” These are some of the desperate cries of the victims’ relatives, who, amidst tears, tried to revive their loved ones.
According to security sources, the Santa Rosa de Lima Cartel is the alleged perpetrator of the attack. Information revealed by authorities indicates that among the dead are at least five people identified as alleged members of a private security company linked to the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG).
It’s important to remember that in the state of Guanajuato, as well as in other parts of the country, the Santa Rosa de Lima Cartel is engaged in a dispute with the group led by Nemesio Oseguera Cervantes, alias “El Mencho,” for control of territories.
The source revealed that before the attack, authorities seized two signs from the Santa Rosa de Lima Cartel.
The lines of investigation point to the involvement of Moisés Soto Bermúdez, who led the Los Marros hit squad.
This is a criminal cell linked to the Santa Rosa de Lima Cartel that operates under the command of Mario Eleazar Lara Belman, better known as “El Negro,” “El Camorro,” or “El Gallo,” who is allegedly involved in drug trafficking, homicides, and extortion in Irapuato, Guanajuato.
“El Negro” is one of the most wanted men by the authorities. He is also identified as a major instigator of violence in the municipalities of Irapuato, Salamanca, and Celaya.
Mario Eleazar Lara Belman has an outstanding arrest warrant for aggravated homicide, pending execution of sentence. He is also linked to crimes including kidnapping, extortion, homicide, drug trafficking, and enforced disappearance.
