Harfuch Announces the Arrest of “El Moncho,” Leader of “Los Lavadora” in Querétaro

On the morning of Wednesday, January 14, 2026, the head of the Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection (SSPC), Omar García Harfuch, announced the arrest of six people, including Ramón, alias “El Moncho,” leader of the criminal cell Los Lavadora in the state of Querétaro.

Members of the Secretariat of National Defense (Defensa), the Secretariat of the Navy (Semar), the SSPC, and the Attorney General’s Office (FGR), with support from the Government of Querétaro, executed search warrants in the state.

According to Harfuch, the now-detained individual was responsible for coordinating cargo truck robberies through assaults and kidnappings of drivers at various points in the state, primarily along the Mexico-Querétaro highway.

According to the head of the SSPC, the criminal cell is also linked to activities ranging from drug dealing, kidnapping, hydrocarbon theft, home burglary, and homicide.
