The organization Mexico Republicano and the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) are organizing a high-level summit with the participation of Mexican and US politicians.

So far, representatives of the Mexican right wing, from the PRI and PAN parties, have confirmed their attendance, along with former governors from northern Mexico, federal and state legislators, and leaders of political parties and civil society organizations.

For the meeting scheduled for February 5 and 6, CPAC is inviting high-level US government officials such as Kristi Noem, Secretary of Homeland Security; Pam Bondi, Attorney General; Marco Rubio, Secretary of State; Christopher Landau, Under Secretary of State; Senator Lindsey Graham; Representative Tony Gonzales; and Representative Maria Elvira Salazar, among others.

The organizers will extend the invitation to the summit to representatives of the Mexican government so they can also present their perspective on these security issues. According to the invitation being extended to participants and sponsors, the forum will be a strategic space for analysis, positioning, and political coordination.

It is taking place at a defining moment for the bilateral relationship as the regional geopolitical landscape is being reshaped.

“In that sense, the Summit will be a space for all the invited guests, including of course the Mexican government, to explain what is happening in the municipalities, to describe the reality of drug trafficking in the rest of the country, and to analyze its objective impact at the binational level,” added Peña Neder.
