The arrest of two financial operators and direct relatives of Iván Archivaldo Guzmán Salazar in Jalisco represents a direct blow to the structure and financing of Los Chapitos, celebrated the United States Ambassador to Mexico, Ronald Johnson.

In the operation carried out this Tuesday in Zapopan, authorities arrested Mario Alfredo Lindoro Navidad, known as “El 7,” brother-in-law of Iván Archivaldo Guzmán Salazar, and Mario Lindoro Elenes, nicknamed “El Niño,” who is the father-in-law of the same criminal leader.

The operation included raids on two residences in Zapopan, with the participation of members of the Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection, the Attorney General’s Office, and the Secretariat of National Defense.

During the operation, seven bags of drugs, four handguns, ammunition, magazines, two pickup trucks, a luxury vehicle, a motorcycle, cell phones, and cash were seized. The detainees were turned over to the Public Prosecutor’s Office, which will determine their legal status.

Ronald Johnson emphasized on his social media accounts that these arrests weaken the capacity for harm of one of the country’s main cartels and underscored the importance of collaboration between the two governments.
