Lucero Sánchez, also known as “La Chapodiputada” (The Chapo Deputy), made new statements following the recent documentary “Married to El Chapo: Emma Coronel Speaks,” in which she is mentioned in connection with her relationship with Joaquín “El Chapo” Guzmán.

In a recent interview with journalist Luis Chaparro for Pie de Nota, Lucero Sánchez revealed that her relationship with the drug lord began when she was kidnapped, and that the former leader of the Sinaloa Cartel physically abused her.

Lucero Sánchez explained that she was 20 years old when, in 2010, she accepted a job as a stylist in the Sinaloa mountains. Her name began to be heard on local radio stations because of her work, which caught the attention of “El Chapo” Guzmán.

The former congresswoman claims she didn’t know who “El Chapo” was, because he was never referred to by that nickname there, and she didn’t know what he looked like.

One day, Sánchez was contacted to attend a party by an acquaintance nicknamed “Güero 90,” and she never imagined she would run into the cartel leader there.

In that first encounter, she felt repulsed by Guzmán, but she quickly realized her refusal wouldn’t be respected. After refusing to dance and socialize with him, Lucero was prevented from leaving the venue.

“I noticed his kind of strange look, and I didn’t like it. That’s when I started to feel contempt for him,” she recounted.

What was supposed to be a three-day stay turned into more than three weeks of isolation: “They started telling me I couldn’t leave, that I had to wait until the road cleared, because there were bad people on the road.”

The situation worsened when one day her young son was forcibly taken to the ranch without her knowledge, presumably to abuse her. Sánchez recalls experiencing constant fear of not being able to leave with her son from that area controlled by armed men.

Throughout that period, Sánchez stated that she was subjected to various forms of physical and psychological violence, a situation that continued even after the initial isolation.
