On Monday, December 15, the Sonora State Attorney General’s Office (FGJES) announced that Ángel Guadalupe “N,” known as “El Mambo,” was formally charged for his alleged involvement in two aggravated homicides committed in the state of Sonora.

Authorities have identified “El Mambo” as the suspected killer of Rafael Díaz “N” and José Alberto “N,” both murders occurring in early 2025.

According to the Attorney General’s Office, Ángel Guadalupe “N” is considered a high-risk target and is believed to belong to a criminal organization responsible for violence in the region.

The specific criminal organization to which “El Mambo” may belong has not yet been revealed.

The Attorney General’s Office of the State of Sinaloa (FGJES) secured a court order to formally charge “El Mambo,” identified as a priority target by state authorities, with his alleged involvement in two aggravated homicides in Hermosillo.

“The Public Prosecutor presented sufficient evidence for the Judge to order the formal charges to be filed, maintaining the justified pretrial detention measure,” the FGJES stated.

The court’s decision upheld the justified pretrial detention measure while the investigation continues.

According to information released by authorities, “El Mambo” chose not to testify in either case, and his defense remained silent during the hearing.
