The Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection (SSPC) today linked “Los Erres” to the murder of Carlos Manzo, former mayor of Uruapan, Michoacán. Jaciel Antonio “N,” alias “El Pelón,” was also indicted for his alleged involvement in the crime.
At a press conference, Omar García Harfuch, head of the agency, stated that the criminal group was directly linked to the politician’s murder, which occurred on November 1.
“We have them directly linked to the murder of the mayor and to other crimes,” the official declared during the conference, which also presented progress on the Michoacán Plan for Peace and Justice. This plan has resulted in the arrest of 134 people and the seizure of 425 kilograms of drugs.
“Following the President’s instructions, we will continue visiting municipalities, productive sectors, and local authorities in Michoacán to monitor progress, strengthen coordination, and listen directly to the citizens,” García Harfuch noted.
