Pedro González Rodríguez, a community leader and former mayoral candidate for San Andrés Tuxtla, more widely known as “El Pillica,” was murdered in the early morning hours of November 18 inside his home in Villa Comoapan, located in southern Veracruz.
According to initial reports, the attack occurred around 2:00 a.m. when a group of armed men entered the residence on Mariano Escobedo Street. The 65-year-old victim was resting when the assailants forced their way in and began shooting.
Neighbors reported hearing gunfire from both handguns and rifles, which corroborates the violence described by local authorities.
