On the afternoon of Sunday, November 16, the city of Culiacán was the scene of an armed attack that ended the life of Gerardo “N,” known as “El Jerry,” a popular social media content creator.

According to information from Noroeste, the incident occurred in the Tres Ríos area, one of the busiest zones in the Sinaloa capital. El Jerry, 25, was leaving a car wash with his relative Gustavo, who also died in the attack.

The incident occurred around 5:00 p.m., when both men were traveling in a late-model gray GMC Sierra pickup truck and were intercepted on Enrique Sánchez Alonso Boulevard by at least four armed individuals in a Jetta.

The attack occurred near a shopping plaza, specifically at the intersection with José Ortiz de Domínguez Street, just 250 meters from the offices of the Sinaloa State Attorney General’s Office (FGE).

Witnesses and residents of nearby neighborhoods alerted the 911 emergency number after hearing numerous gunshots from high-powered weapons. News outlets like Los Noticieristas and Quadratin reported that the shootout lasted long enough to cause dozens of people in a nearby shopping plaza to react by throwing themselves to the ground and seeking cover after the initial bursts of gunfire.
