Uriel “R”, accused of assaulting Mayor Claudia Sheinbaum in Mexico City’s Historic Center, was transferred to the North Prison after his arrest.
The transfer of the man was reported on November 6. The operation was carried out by the Investigative Police (PDI) and officers from the Secretariat of Citizen Security (SSC).
He will be presented before judicial authorities for formal charges to be filed against him.
The man, who was arrested on November 4, is accused of attempting to grope the mayor. In her morning press conference, Claudia Sheinbaum confirmed that she had filed a complaint against the man, who was allegedly intoxicated.
