The mayor expressed his gratitude for all the support and the backing of those who had been asking about his health.
The attack occurred on the Culiacán-Mazatlán highway, at kilometer 124, near Jacola, in Culiacán.
According to reports, the mayor was traveling in an armored Toyota Tacoma pickup truck from Culiacán to Elota when he was intercepted by armed men in a blue Honda, who began following him.
The mayor managed to reach Elota unharmed, where they requested support from the police forces.
