On September 18, the Jalisco Prosecutor’s Office announced new developments in the investigation into the murder and discovery of a family originally from Michoacán inside a van in the San Andrés neighborhood of Guadalajara, a case that caused a fire in eastern Jalisco.

According to forensic investigations, it was confirmed that the victims were killed in a mechanic’s shop located in the Revolución neighborhood. Therefore, the Deputy Prosecutor for Specialized Investigations, Alfonso Gutiérrez Santillán, detailed that an arrest warrant is already in place for one of the alleged perpetrators and that, as part of the investigation, seven searches have been carried out on various properties related to the case.

“We already have expert reports that show us that the family was victimized at that location. We have issued an arrest warrant for a subject who participated in the crime, and seven searches have been carried out on properties,” explained Alfonso Gutiérrez Santillán, Deputy Prosecutor for Specialized Investigations.

He also noted that the owner of the workshop where the murder occurred has not appeared to testify, nor has there been a report of his disappearance. However, his whereabouts are unknown, so the investigation to locate him will continue in accordance with the protocols of the Prosecutor’s Office.

Regarding the disappearance of José Manuel, Héctor, and Gary, the official indicated that the search efforts are continuing and that, so far, there is no indication that they have been transported outside of Jalisco. It should be noted that on August 22, residents of the San Andrés neighborhood reported the presence of a gray pickup truck with several bodies inside.
