Baby Jazlyn, granddaughter of grandmother Alicia Matías Teodoro, who died in a gas pipeline explosion at the La Concordia Bridge, will be transferred to a hospital in Galveston, Texas, for specialized treatment for her burns, according to the Michou y Mau Foundation for Burned Children.
Since the tragedy occurred, they announced that they would be evaluating the cases in order to carry out the transfers and have the best medical equipment to save those affected. In this regard, on September 15, they announced that the minor will be transferred from the National Medical Center to Shriners Hospitals for Children. “We thank the 21st Century National Medical Center for their support in assessing the minor’s case, as well as the medical team waiting for the patient to provide the specialized care she requires,” their brief statement reads.
Likewise, the Ministry of Health confirmed that the transfer has already been made, in collaboration with the Foundation for Burned Children. Jazlyn Azulet arrived with her mother in Galveston for her speedy recovery. Other transfers are continuing for minors currently in IMSS hospitals.
“The minor traveled with her mother, ensuring her closeness and support throughout this important process for her recovery,” they explained.
