The governor of Sinaloa, Rubén Rocha Moya, announced that this year the commemoration of the Grito de Independencia will be solemn, limited to a civic event led by the three branches of government and with the participation of the Armed Forces. Therefore, he canceled the concert scheduled for Culiacán’s main square.
The message was shared through social media, where the president explained that the decision reflects an exercise of responsibility in the face of the situation the state is experiencing. “Governing means ensuring the well-being, security, and rights of the people. I know that many Sinaloans eagerly await the celebration, and I deeply appreciate the willingness of the artists who had been invited.
“I ask for your understanding and invite you to celebrate the pride of being Mexican in our homes,” he expressed.
The state executive branch emphasized that September is a month that symbolizes civic values, national identity, and historical memory, pillars that strengthen Sinaloa and the entire country.
