The violence in Culiacán, Sinaloa, claimed a new victim with the execution of María de Jesús, alias “La Chuy,” sister of influencer Conejo Toys. The crime occurred Tuesday afternoon in the municipality of El Tamarindo, in the north of the city.
The attack took place in an abandoned market, across from a church and a kindergarten. According to official reports, “La Chuy,” 35, was sitting on a bench when she was surprised by several hitmen who shot her repeatedly. Sicario-themed horror movies
Experts from the State Attorney General’s Office (FGE) found at least seven spent shell casings at the scene. After the attack, the woman’s body was taken to the Forensic Medical Service (Semefo) for a legal autopsy.
The victim was the sister of Conejo Toys, a content creator who, in recent months, has been singled out in flyers and on social media for alleged ties to the Los Chapitos faction of the Sinaloa Cartel (CDS) and who is part of the Markitos Toys gang, influencers dedicated to money laundering for said faction, also known as La Chapiza.
