The Veracruz State Attorney General’s Office reported that teacher Irma Hernández died as a result of the torture and assault she suffered during her kidnapping in Álamo Temapache.
This Monday, Prosecutor Verónica Hernández Giadáns held a press conference, where she spoke about several criminal acts that have occurred in recent weeks in northern Veracruz, including the deprivation of liberty and murder of teacher Irma Hernández.
In this regard, she emphasized that an arrest warrant has already been executed against Octavio N. Jeana Paola N, Víctor Manuel N, and José Eduardo N, for their probable responsibility in the kidnapping of the retired teacher.
She explained that the charge was made considering that the kidnapping of the victim, who was over 60 years old, was carried out by two or more people in a violent manner and with the purpose of obtaining a benefit, affecting her health due to the aggression, torture, and violence inflicted during her captivity, which caused her death.
This is in accordance with the provisions of the general law to prevent and punish kidnapping crimes. The four defendants are being held in pretrial detention; furthermore, considerable progress has been made in the investigation to identify and search for other participants in the crime.
