Twenty days after Julio César Chávez Jr. was detained in the United States by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents in California, his attorney, Michael Goldstein, shared a recent update on the junior.
After his disappearance became known due to his failure to appear at a hearing, the Chávez family’s attorney confirmed the former world champion’s whereabouts, stating that Julio César is in Texas in the custody of ICE personnel.
“We understand he remains in ICE custody in Texas,” he shared in a brief meeting with the press.
When journalist Javier Ceriani asked him about how long Chávez Jr. will spend under the protection of U.S. authorities, or if they know when he will arrive in Mexico, the lawyer denied any such information, as they still have no details on that situation, so he simply said: “I wish we could tell you.”
