White House spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt declared at a press conference that President Donald Trump has put an end to migration at the border.
The first order the president issued upon taking office almost six months ago, on January 20, was to declare the border in crisis. To date, 9,000 military personnel are supporting approximately 20,000 patrol officers in the area.
Leavitt stated that, with the border secured, operations to detain “dangerous illegal immigrants across the country” are now continuing.
She mentioned that three Mexican migrants were arrested this week in Atlanta, Houston, and Salt Lake City.
According to the spokesperson, these migrants are facing charges of rape, felony sexual assault, and child abuse.
Although the presidential spokesperson failed to mention it, Mexico helped stem the flow of migrants through its territory before it reached the border and reinforced security along the border with Mexico with the deployment of 10,000 National Guard members.
