Carla, a 28-year-old woman, was murdered in the state of Guadalajara when she confronted a man outside her home. An attempt to ask her to leave ended with her being shot with a high-caliber rifle.
The events were captured on a security video in the neighborhood where she lived, showing the scene to thousands of users, sparking outrage and denunciations of the femicide.
So far, the Guadalajara State Attorney General’s Office has spoken out about the crime, offering a public conference detailing the progress of the investigation after responding to a security call.
The head of the agency, Salvador González, explained that they had located the white Chevrolet Equinox after an operation following the report of the murder. Carla’s attacker was traveling in it.
While showing the progress, they also revealed that they have an arrest warrant for the man who pulled out a rifle and attacked the young woman to kill her.
For security reasons and to preserve the investigation, the family and the Prosecutor’s Office declined to provide details about the attacker, only confirming that he was not the young woman’s partner, but merely a friend, and that there was no other romantic relationship, as has been reported.
