Two large fires consume 29 homes in Tijuana

A total of 29 homes were consumed by fire in two large fires that broke out simultaneously in the city of Tijuana, Baja California, with no deaths reported.

The first fire occurred in the El Niño neighborhood, where 14 houses, built with improvised materials, were razed by flames in an irregular settlement. One person was injured by electric shock at the scene.

The second fire occurred in the Terrazas del Valle neighborhood, where another 15 homes were completely destroyed.

Both fires are still active and are being attended to by the Tijuana Fire Department, which deployed emergency units to contain the damage and prevent the fire from spreading.

Municipal authorities reported that 25 firefighters are working intensively at both locations and that the priority is to safeguard the lives of residents and control the emergency as quickly as possible.
