Members of the Acuña Fire Department, part of the 911 Foundation, joined the rescue efforts alongside local Texas firefighters following the devastating flash floods that occurred in the center of the state. The tragedy has claimed the lives of at least 82 people, including 28 minors in one county, according to state and local authorities.
Ronald Johnson, the United States ambassador to Mexico, thanked the government led by Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo for the displays of solidarity and support in the wake of the floods that have caused disasters in Texas. He said the two countries have shown respect and empathy in moments like the one that occurred in the border state.
Through his verified account on the social media platform X, formerly Twitter, the diplomatic representative of the Donald Trump administration in Mexico dedicated a message to his counterpart, as well as to the federal government. In his message, the ambassador wrote:
“Through Secretary de la Fuente of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (SRE), I thank the Mexican government for its expressions of solidarity and support following the floods in Texas. Our people have always been united in the moments that matter most, guided by respect, empathy, and shared commitment.”
