Former United States President Barack Obama shared his 2023 playlist, featuring a select repertoire of his favorite songs from this summer, which included the Mexican Peso Pluma.
On his social media accounts, Barack Obama shared his usual summer playlist, but this time he made an interesting mix of the new with the old, and to the surprise of many, Peso Pluma was one of the chosen ones.
“As I do every year, here are some songs I’ve been listening to this summer—a mix of old and new. I look forward to hearing what I’ve been missing,” the former US president wrote.
In his 2023 playlist of more than 40 songs, Barack Obama declared himself a fan of Peso Pluma with his hit song “La Bebé,” in which he collaborates with the Mexican reggaeton artist Yng Lvcas.
And it is that in his summer song list, the former president of the United States specifically recommended the “remix” version of La Bebé, in which Hassan Emilio Kabande Laija, the real name of Peso Pluma, participates.
However, Peso Pluma is not the only Spanish-speaking singer to appear on Barack Obama’s 2023 playlist, as the Spanish singer Rosalía and the Puerto Rican Rauw Alejandro also do so with their song “Vampiros”.
In past years, Barack Obama had already shown his taste for reggaeton, such as when in 2022 he included Bad Bunny among his favorite artists, as well as Ozuna and Farruko in other playlists.
