Belinda and Majo Aguilar headlined a tribute to Paquita la del Barrio, marking the release of the compilation album “¿Me estás oyendo? Lo mejor de Paquita la del Barrio” (“Are You Listening to Me? The Best of Paquita la del Barrio”), nearly two years after the passing of the singer from Veracruz. The event featured an exhibition of the performer’s personal items and dresses, as well as a *Día de Muertos* (Day of the Dead) altar set up in her honor.

“Thank you for coming to celebrate and pay tribute to one of Mexico’s greatest and most significant voices. Get ready to sing along with me,” said Belinda as she opened the evening.

Francisca Viveros Barradas—Paquita la del Barrio’s real name—passed away on February 17, 2025, at the age of 77, at her home in Xalapa, Veracruz, following a sudden, fatal heart attack while she slept.

Belinda performed “Rata de dos patas” (“Two-Legged Rat”)—one of the best-known songs in Paquita la del Barrio’s repertoire—as the opening piece of the tribute.

On her Instagram account, the singer shared a video showcasing *Día de Muertos* decorations and an altar dedicated to the artist from Veracruz. In the footage, the actress wore a black ensemble consisting of trousers and a corset adorned with shimmering stripes, along with a jacket featuring the words “I love Paquita” embroidered on the back.
