In the early hours of Saturday, during an operation carried out by the State Attorney General’s Office, José Carlos ‘N’—the Director of Regulations for the Taxco de Alarcón, Guerrero, municipal government—was arrested, judicial authorities confirmed.

The operation was supported by the Secretariat of National Defense (SEDENA), the National Guard (GN), the Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection (SSyPC), and the State Police.

It is noted that the municipal official was arrested on October 16, 2026, in the municipality of Taxco de Alarcón, Guerrero.

According to the investigation, the incident took place on April 11, 2026, when a relative of Taxco de Alarcón Mayor Juan Vega was abducted by unknown individuals while on his way to work.

Investigators state that, the day after the incident, José Carlos ‘N’—known by the alias “El Queso” (“The Cheese”)—allegedly assisted in the transmission of information regarding the kidnapping.

The inquiry indicates that the accused allegedly deleted communication records related to the kidnapping—information deemed crucial for clarifying the facts of the case.

According to the lines of investigation, the Taxco official, José Carlos ‘N’, is also identified as an alleged member of the criminal group “La Familia Michoacana,” operating in the northern region of Guerrero.

Meanwhile, Adrián ‘F’—a serving police officer with the local public security department—was also arrested for his alleged involvement in the kidnapping, which took place in the heart of the municipality. In both cases, the operation was carried out by the State Attorney General’s Office (FGE) along with federal and state authorities, and the public security officer was successfully apprehended yesterday in Taxco de Alarcón.

According to initial reports, all indications are that both individuals have alleged ties to organized crime in that part of the northern region of Guerrero.
