On September 2, the Aguascalientes State Attorney General’s Office confirmed the arrest of Miguel “N”—alias “El Niño Concepción”—identified as a high-priority target and a source of violence along the border between Zacatecas and Aguascalientes. The arrest was carried out pursuant to a warrant for aggravated intentional homicide (involving premeditation and unfair advantage) against two victims.
The operation combined intelligence gathering, field investigation, and inter-agency coordination. Participating units included the State Criminal Investigation Agency, the State Police (via the Special Operations Group), the Mexican Army, and the National Guard, in an effort designed to locate and apprehend a suspect deemed a high risk to regional security.
The events prompting the investigation took place in the early hours of August 10, 2026. The victims were outside a home in the Urbi Villas del Vergel neighborhood in the municipality of San Francisco de los Romo.
According to the investigation, “El Niño Concepción” arrived at the scene and opened fire on those present. Two men were killed and a third was wounded before the attacker fled the scene.
Reconstructing the attack allowed investigators to trace the route that ultimately led to the arrest.
