Mexican Army personnel arrested seven gunmen and seized an arsenal during patrols in the municipality of Escuinapa, Sinaloa, after responding to a C4 report regarding a clash near the municipal seat.

Federal forces mobilized immediately upon receiving an alert about gunfire in the area.

During the incident, a 49-year-old woman identified as Miriam Lizet was struck in the head by a suspected stray bullet while at her home in the Benito Juárez neighborhood. Emergency services treated the victim, prompting a significant deployment of personnel across the area.

Military troops caught the suspects red-handed in possession of weapons and tactical gear.
The operation led to the precautionary closure of local businesses and the deployment of Mexican Navy (SEMAR) helicopters to secure the area. The seven detainees and the confiscated equipment were handed over to the Attorney General’s Office (FGR) in Mazatlán, which will compile the corresponding investigation file.
