Remittances to Mexico maintained their positive trend in June, marking a fifth straight month of growth and solidifying their status as a key source of foreign currency for the national economy. This increase was driven by a higher volume of transactions and a rise in the average amount of each transfer sent by Mexicans working abroad, primarily in the United States.
According to figures released this Monday by the Bank of Mexico (Banxico), remittances totaling $5.472 billion flowed into the country in June—a 4.2% year-over-year increase compared to the same month in 2025.
The central bank’s report indicates that the number of transactions also continued to rise. A total of 13 million transfers were made in June, representing a 0.4% increase compared to the same period the previous year.
Meanwhile, the average amount per transfer reached $422, marking a 3.8% annual increase and the highest monthly average recorded in at least the last decade.
This trend reflects the fact that Mexican workers abroad not only continued sending funds to their families but also increased the value of each individual transfer.
