The arrest of “El R1″—identified as the alleged mastermind behind the murder of former Uruapan mayor Carlos Manzo—has yielded new leads regarding the case of influencer Valeria Márquez.
The 23-year-old content creator was murdered in May 2025 when a man posing as a delivery worker arrived at her beauty salon, Blossom: The Beauty Lounge, under the pretext of delivering a package.
After identifying Valeria Márquez, the individual shot her. The attack was captured on video, as the influencer was conducting a live stream that was ended by one of her associates who was present in the salon when the incident occurred.

Omar García Harfuch, Secretary of Security and Citizen Protection, provided details regarding the arrest of Ramón Ángel “N”—alias “El R1″—during President Claudia Sheinbaum’s morning press conference.
The official stated that “Los Rs,” a group linked to the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG), is connected to various violent incidents in the region, including the femicide of influencer Valeria Márquez.
García Harfuch explained that the arrest of Ramón Ángel “N” provided leads not only regarding the murder of Carlos Manzo but also concerning Valeria Márquez. “This criminal cell allegedly participated, under his orders, in multiple violent acts in the region, including the femicide of Valeria Márquez, which took place in May 2025,” he commented.
The secretary added that Francisco “N,” the son of “El R1,” is linked to the crime, as he allegedly asked his father to have the content creator murdered.
“The son asked his father, ‘El R1,’ to commit the femicide. This is going to be proven,” remarked the Security Secretary, adding that Francisco “N” and Valeria Márquez had been in a romantic relationship.
