Officers from the Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection (SSPC), in coordination with the Attorney General’s Office (FGR), arrested Ricardo Thompson Navarro in the Zona Playitas neighborhood of Ensenada. He is another principal shareholder of the company Ingemar, which is linked to a fuel-smuggling network operating between the United States and Mexico.
This marks the second arrest made this Thursday in Ensenada involving individuals connected to the so-called “Wachauf” network. The first person detained was former Baja California Governor Ernesto Ruffo Appel, who has already been placed at the disposal of the Federal Public Prosecutor’s Office at the FGR’s Tijuana branch.
According to the SSPC’s national arrest registry, Thompson Navarro was detained at 2:08 PM while traveling along the Transpeninsular Highway. He was handed over to the FGR in Tijuana for custody, as there is an alleged arrest warrant against him for organized crime and hydrocarbon-related offenses.
So far, the FGR—led by Ernestina Godoy Ramos—has only issued a statement via its “X” account, without providing specific details regarding the accusations against the two businessmen.
