Secretary Omar García Harfuch confirmed the death of “El Texas”—identified as a *plaza* boss for Los Chapitos—during an operation by federal forces in Culiacán, Sinaloa.

The official, head of the Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection (SSPC), made the announcement in his capacity as the country’s top security authority.

Precision operations carried out on July 7 and 8, 2026, in the municipality of Culiacán, Sinaloa, resulted in the death of a Sinaloa Cartel *plaza* boss and the arrest of four members of his criminal cell. The joint action was coordinated by the Mexican Army and the Special Operations Group of the Sinaloa Secretariat of Public Security (SSPS), based on intelligence work by the Secretariat of National Defense (Sedena).

The deceased, identified as Cristhian Guadalupe “N,” operated under the alias “El Texas” and served as the territorial leader for the faction known as “Los Menores,” a branch of the Sinaloa Cartel. He was killed during the final operation when armed individuals attacked military personnel deployed in the area.

In addition to the killing of the *plaza* boss, the operations on July 7 and 8 led to the capture of four members of the cell. During the searches and seizures resulting from these procedures, security forces confiscated the following items:
