Two people were killed and three others injured following a targeted attack last night at the Fiebre Negra barbershop in the Tepito neighborhood. Among the victims is an alleged trafficker identified as El Maelo; here is what is known about the case.
The attack was reported after 10:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 7, when two men arrived at the barbershop—located at 98 Tenochtitlán Street in the Morelos neighborhood—and fired at least 15 shots.
Five people were struck by gunfire. The Secretariat of Citizen Security (SSC) confirmed two fatalities, and it was reported that two individuals were transported to a hospital for medical treatment.
Forensic experts from the Mexico City Attorney General’s Office arrived at the scene, along with personnel from the SSC, the Rescue and Medical Emergency Squad (ERUM), and Civil Protection.
