Miguel Germán Martínez Rangel, known as “El Mike,” was reportedly arrested on the afternoon of Friday, April 10, following a coordinated operation involving state and federal forces in the Carranza neighborhood of Mexicali.
“El Mike” is identified as a street-level drug trafficking leader linked to “Los Rusos”—a criminal cell within the Sinaloa Cartel’s “Los Mayos” faction—which is headed by Juan José Ponce Félix, alias “El Ruso.” The U.S. government is currently offering a reward of up to $5 million for information leading to his capture.
On the afternoon of April 11, the Baja California State Attorney General’s Office (FGE) confirmed the arrest of several individuals following the operation, which lasted more than 18 hours. Additionally, the agency released a video featuring aerial footage of the detainees lying face-down on the premises. The footage also revealed several blurred faces, one of which is believed to be that of “El Mike.”
