A case of domestic violence recorded in the city of Hidalgo del Parral, Chihuahua, has brought to the forefront the debate regarding the lack of visibility of men as victims of aggression within the home.
The incident, which took place in the Villas del Tecnológico neighborhood, culminated in the arrest of a beautiful 25-year-old woman after she physically attacked her romantic partner. (Politics Mexico)
According to the report from local authorities, officers responded to a residence after receiving a 911 emergency call. Upon arrival, they located the victim—identified as Martín Octavio, 26—who displayed visible injuries on various parts of his body.
The victim’s testimony indicates that the violence erupted during the night after he refused to engage in sexual relations with his partner. According to the complaint, the woman—identified as Sara Michelle “B”—reacted aggressively, initiating a physical confrontation that quickly escalated.
“She struck me with a belt on my arms and back,” recounted the victim, who further detailed that he was taken to a room where the assaults continued.
The atmosphere of tension did not subside with the physical attack. Martín Octavio “E” stated that, during the early hours of the morning, the woman maintained a hostile attitude, forcibly going through his cell phone and confronting him over alleged messages.
An aggravating factor in the case is that the couple’s young daughter witnessed the episodes of violence, a circumstance that increases the legal gravity of the incident.
Security personnel proceeded to immediately arrest Sara Michelle “B,” who was placed at the disposal of the Chihuahua State Attorney General’s Office (FGE). The agency confirmed that an investigation file has been opened regarding the crime of domestic violence, while the assaulted young man received emergency medical attention and specialized psychological support.
