On Friday, March 27, the well-known “Emergency Button” was relaunched. It has been updated to include a version featuring a bilingual interface, providing real-time assistance to tourists traveling from the United States to Tijuana in the event of any emergency.

As explained by the Secretary of Municipal Security and Citizen Protection (SSPCM), Alejandro Avilés Amezcua, the “Emergency Button” was redesigned to eliminate language barriers; it now offers assistance in English as well, with the aim of aiding foreign tourists visiting Tijuana during any emergency situation.

The new version of the button—available on both the U.S. and Mexican App Stores, as well as on the Google Play Store—includes support routing for foreign tourists to 9-1-1 and 078.

The updated application features a tab titled “Prevention and Mobility,” which displays current traffic regulations in English, along with information regarding major traffic violations and a system for checking on towed vehicles.
