In the early morning hours of February 14, an armed group traveling on motorcycles carried out a shooting attack in front of the Sala de Despecho bar in the Angelópolis commercial area of Puebla, leaving three people dead (two men and a woman) and five wounded. The incident occurred just meters from the Estrella de Puebla (Puebla Star), one of the city’s busiest landmarks, as well as from the Angelópolis area.
According to official information, the attackers intercepted a white Mercedes-Benz SUV carrying two men and a woman. They then opened fire repeatedly. The shooting killed all three occupants of the vehicle and injured five other people, who required specialized medical attention.
The Secretariat of Citizen Security (SSC) reported the arrest of some of the alleged perpetrators shortly after the incident. Later, the Puebla Public Security Secretariat (SSP) confirmed the arrest of at least four individuals linked to the attack. Authorities seized two motorcycles at different locations in the city, vehicles that were allegedly used to carry out the attack.
