Registered Nurse Stunned Millions with Live Wedding at Halftime

The Apple Music Super Bowl LX performance paused for a live wedding—complete with cake, dancing, and a love story that melted the internet.
The moment turned the halftime show into a real-life love story that quickly went viral.
If you blinked during Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl halftime show, you might have missed one of the wildest, most heart-melting plot twists of the night: a real couple got married. Onstage. During halftime.
Yes. Married. And yes — there was cake.
During Bad Bunny’s Apple Music Super Bowl LX halftime performance on February 8, the show paused for a special moment. A couple appeared onstage, tied the knot, sat beside a three-tier wedding cake, took a bite, and danced while Bad Bunny sang around them as if this were the most normal thing in the world.
Shortly after, PEOPLE confirmed what nurses everywhere were already celebrating in their group chats: the groom is a registered nurse. The news unleashed a wave of joy and congratulations across the nursing community.
The groom, Thomas “Tommy” Wolter, became a registered nurse in March 2021, according to his Instagram. In May 2023, he shared that he had earned his Bachelor of Science in Nursing from California State University, Fullerton.
Their Love Story
Wolter and Eleisa “Elli” Aparico began dating in February 2023.
In February 2024, they celebrated their one-year anniversary with heartfelt Instagram posts.
“Bebesota, you have made this last year the best year of my life without a doubt,” Wolter captioned a carousel of photos with Elli. “I can’t wait for what we have in store for our future. My best friend, my peace, my happiness, my love @ellly_bean. Happy Anniversary.”
On February 8, the Puerto Rican singer — whose real name is Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio — performed a medley of his hits during the Apple Music Super Bowl LX Halftime Show. At one point, the couple appeared onstage to tie the knot. The newlyweds then sat near a three-tier cake, eventually taking a big slice and dancing together while Bad Bunny performed around them.
Shortly after the show, PEOPLE confirmed that the bride and groom are a real-life couple: Thomas “Tommy” Wolter and Eleisa “Elli” Aparico.
Aparico later shared a clip of the moment on her Instagram Stories, writing, “My heart is so full. This experience has been nothing short of amazing.”
In a press release following the show, Bad Bunny’s team confirmed the live wedding and explained how the mid-performance ceremony came to be.
“As the music played, a real wedding took place onstage,” the recap stated. “After inviting Bad Bunny to attend their wedding, the couple was instead invited to be part of the Apple Music Halftime Show, where they were married live — with him serving as a witness and signing the marriage certificate. Complete with a wedding cake, the moment unfolded as a joyful celebration in real time.”
After the performance, Wolter shared a clip on his Instagram Stories, writing, “The best part of the night was getting a wife.”
The bride’s dress was designed by wedding dress designer Hayley Paige, according to The New York Times. Paige told the outlet she had been asked to supply several dresses nearly a month before the performance but didn’t know until the last minute that her design would be worn during the show.
Aparico’s hair was styled by Mariah Montes, according to Montes’ Instagram.
