In a coordinated, high-impact operation, federal and state authorities executed 12 simultaneous search warrants at various locations in the city of Querétaro, resulting in the arrest of 30 people, including Diego Salazar and Luis Gustavo Agapito Millán, alias ‘El Flaco’ and ‘Jony,’ identified as the leader of a criminal cell linked to the Beltrán Leyva cartel.

The operation was carried out by members of the Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection, the Secretariat of the Navy, the Attorney General’s Office of the Republic, the Querétaro State Attorney General’s Office (FGE), and the State Police, as part of a strategy to dismantle criminal structures operating in the region.

Authorities reported that the detainee served as a regional operator, responsible for coordinating drug sales and distribution in the state capital, as well as recruiting individuals for contract killings, primarily to fight for territorial control, trafficking routes, and the neutralization of rival groups.

Investigations indicate that the raided properties were linked to the Los Salazar criminal group, an organization affiliated with the Sinaloa Cartel, dedicated to extortion, drug dealing, and arms trafficking.

During the raids, authorities seized firearms, ammunition, narcotics, cash, vehicles, cell phones, data storage devices, and properties, all of which were turned over to the Federal Public Prosecutor’s Office for the preparation of the corresponding case files.

Security sources emphasized that the operation, led by the Mexican Navy and the Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection, required a high level of precision and synchronization, as the raids were carried out simultaneously to prevent a reaction from the criminal cell, which was considered well-organized and operationally capable.

The outcome of the operation represents a significant blow to the financial and operational structure of the criminal group and reinforces the strategy to contain organized crime in the state of Querétaro.
