The disappearance of four tourists in Mazatlán, Sinaloa, triggered a federal and state search operation after a group of six members of the same family were abducted in the northern part of the port city.
In the first hours of the operation, authorities located a 28-year-old woman and a 9-year-old girl alive, while the whereabouts of the other four men remain unconfirmed.
The disappearance of Óscar García Hernández, Javier Ramírez Sabino, Omar Alexis Ramírez Sabino, and Gregorio Ramírez Sabino has generated significant concern in the Sinaloa port city, which is preparing to host the 2026 Mazatlán International Carnival.
According to local media reports, the incident occurred on the night of Tuesday, February 3, when the group of six tourists, from Santa Ana Ixtlahuaca, State of Mexico, was intercepted in the northern part of the city.
