César Alejandro Sepúlveda Arellano, alias ‘El Botox,’ the alleged leader of Los Blancos de Troya, the armed wing of Los Viagras, an ally of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG), was arrested.

El Botox is implicated in the murder of Bernardo Bravo, president of the Citrus Growers Association of the Apatzingán Valley.

According to the Attorney General of Michoacán, Carlos Torres Piña, El Botox was allegedly the mastermind and perpetrator of the crime, and an arrest warrant had already been issued against him, which was executed today.

Omar García Harfuch, head of the Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection (SSPC), stated that César Alejandro Sepúlveda was a high-priority target and a major source of violence in Michoacán.

He detailed that “El Bótox” is responsible for extorting lemon growers and other producers, as well as for homicides, including that of Bernardo Bravo.

“A few minutes ago, a man nicknamed ‘El Bótox’ was arrested in Michoacán by the National Defense Secretariat (Defensa), the Navy Secretariat, the SSPC (Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection), and the Michoacán State Attorney General’s Office. We are in constant communication with Attorney General Carlos Torres Piña regarding this arrest,” he stated during the President’s daily press conference.

According to initial reports, the arrest took place at 7:00 a.m. in the municipality of Apatzingán, where operations to locate him had been intensified since yesterday.

In areas like Cenobio Moreno, where this crime boss’s family resides, operations were reinforced both on the ground and in the air, resulting in the seizure of nearly 50 improvised explosive devices.

Following the arrest of “El Bótox,” roadblocks have been reported in the towns of Chandio, El Recreo, and Cenobio Moreno itself.

Recently, he released a series of videos on social media claiming to be a defender of the citrus industry, a victim of the authorities, and that he was not the one who murdered the lemon growers’ leader.

According to security sources, “El Bótox” had lost the support of allied groups such as Los Viagras and the Jalisco New Generation Cartel.
