U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has issued an alert to locate Omar Guillermo Cuen-Lugo, a former agent of the Mexican Federal Police and alleged high-level operative for the Sinaloa Cartel.
According to information released by ICE, Cuen-Lugo is considered one of the Sinaloa Cartel’s main drug traffickers. He was previously identified as one of the operatives working for Ismael “El Mayo” Zambada, who is currently in custody in the United States.
The U.S. agency maintains that the former official, also known by his nickname “El Compa Omar,” has coordinated cocaine trafficking for years along routes crossing from Sinaloa and Baja California to the United States.
According to the ICE report, Omar Guillermo Cuen-Lugo is accused of conspiracy to distribute cocaine and money laundering. His last confirmed locations were Tijuana, Mexico, and Los Angeles, California.
