Two former employees of Julio Iglesias’s mansions accuse the singer of sexually assaulting them while they worked for him in 2021, according to an investigation published by eldiario.es in collaboration with Univision Noticias. The testimonies come from a domestic worker and a physical therapist who worked for the singer and claim to have been live-in employees at the artist’s residences in the Dominican Republic and the Bahamas. The younger of the two was 22 years old at the time.
The women describe an environment marked by control, harassment, and abuse of power, as well as behaviors they characterize as sexual assault, unwanted touching, and repeated insults. According to their account, the incidents occurred when Julio Iglesias was 77 years old. The journalistic investigation, conducted over three years, includes repeated interviews with the victims, additional testimonies from former employees, and extensive documentation supporting the accounts.
One of the complainants, identified by a pseudonym to protect her identity, claims she was pressured into having sex with the singer. According to her testimony, she was frequently called to his room after work, where she describes non-consensual penetration, slapping, and physical and verbal abuse. “I felt like an object,” she recounts. These incidents, she says, almost always occurred in the presence and with the participation of another employee who held a higher position.
