Ney González Sánchez, former governor of Nayarit from 2005 to 2011, was located in a North American country after more than three years on the run from justice for various state and federal crimes.
The state’s Deputy Attorney General, Ludmila Heredia Verdugo, reported that they are carrying out the legal processes related to his extradition request so that he can face justice.
According to the official, the crimes he faces include fraudulent administration, abuse of power, influence peddling, money laundering, fraud by simulation of a legal act, and document forgery.
The accusations against him focus primarily on embezzlement linked to the Bahía de Banderas Trust (FIBBA), which was created for the tourism development of the Riviera Nayarit.
