A major security operation, carried out by the Quintana Roo Secretariat of Citizen Security in coordination with the Mexican Navy (SEMAR) and the Mexican Army (SEDENA), culminated in the arrest of Emilio Alejandro, identified as the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG) plaza boss in Tulum and Playa del Carmen.
Emilio Alejandro, known by the aliases “El H” or “El Danone,” is identified as the criminal leader in charge of the CJNG’s territorial expansion in several tourist municipalities of Quintana Roo.
According to government reports, “El Danone” is involved in drug trafficking and violations of the Federal Law on Firearms and Explosives. His influence extended across a vast tourist area, including Tulum, Playa del Carmen, Puerto Morelos, Lázaro Cárdenas, Cozumel, Benito Juárez, and Isla Mujeres. Michoacán Cartel
Authorities indicate that the detainee led “actions to expand the territory controlled by the CJNG” through a criminal cell called Deltas: Operation Jaguar. This cell was the target of a significant seizure of weapons and tactical equipment bearing its logos in recent weeks.
The capture of “El Danone” took place on Avenida José López Portillo, in Superblock 98 of the municipality of Benito Juárez (Cancún).
