The US State Department announced it has revoked and imposed visa restrictions on individuals in Mexico belonging to a transportation company that provided services to undocumented migrants to that country.
The measure was applied to executives and senior officials of a company—whose name was not disclosed—based in Mexico that provided travel services to foreigners seeking to enter the United States.
According to the investigation, the individuals involved organized the transportation of foreigners—including minors—from the Caribbean and other regions to transit points in Central America, where several of them were later found attempting to enter the US illegally.
“The Department is revoking visas and taking steps to impose visa restrictions to prevent these individuals from entering our country,” the agency stated in a press release.
