Faced with the paranoia of hearing rain and knowing that sooner or later everything could flood, we have no choice but to think twice and find a way out of the situation. So, the Veracruzans who travel by boat to their destinations, with an apocalyptic outlook before their eyes due to the heavy rains that have hit much of the region, even took out floats.
In Poza Rica, boats carrying people can be seen moving through the flooded streets, because there’s no other option. This video on TikTok captures it all and even makes us smile: “Those from Tuxpan are invading us.”
They didn’t think twice and it was time to pull out the old reliable one. In the face of the rising waters of the Cazones River and the possible overflow of its banks, people in northern Veracruz are already preparing for what might come.
“And they said owning a boat was a waste of money…” reads one of the comments.
